    Enosimania

Feeling guilty or regretful is a normal part of everyday life. However, if you constantly feel guilty and blame yourself for no apparent reason, you may be experiencing a mental health disorder.

Enosimania is a condition that causes the emergence of thoughts that you have done something wrong. In addition to feelings of guilt, people with enosimania will also feel afraid of getting criticism from others.

    Symptoms of Enosimania

The feeling of guilt that occurs is an expression of emotion that is felt consciously. This emotion involves self-assessment, feelings of pressure, and feelings of failure.

In addition, there are several other symptoms that often occur in people with enosimania, such as:

    • Experiencing excessive anxiety disorders.
    • Crying for no apparent reason.
    • Sleep disorders, such as insomnia.
    • Muscle tension in some parts of the body that triggers discomfort.
    • Remembering mistakes that happened in the past.
    • A feeling of deep regret.
    • A recurring feeling of worry.
    • Physical disorders, such as stomach aches or digestive disorders.

This condition can also cause other health complaints, such as depression or stress. Even if not treated properly, enosimania makes sufferers experience continuous fatigue to impaired concentration.

Some sufferers will also feel helpless when episodes of this disorder occur. This makes sufferers of this disorder have difficulty socializing with new environments or relatives.

Feelings of guilt that arise continuously can affect a person’s quality of life and well-being. Therefore, do not ignore the health complaints you experience related to enosimania.

Immediately do a mental health check with an expert so that you can handle this condition properly. That way, your quality of life will improve again.

    Causes of Enosimania

It is not yet known for certain what causes someone to experience enosimania. However, having a family history of similar conditions is one of the triggers for someone to experience enosimania.

This makes enosimania possible due to a genetic history in the family. In addition, someone who has a history of anxiety disorders is also at high risk of experiencing enosimania.

    Risk Factors for Enosimania

Apart from the main causes, there are several factors that can cause someone to experience enosimania, such as:

    1. Feelings of anxiety

If you have a lot of anxiety about something you are facing or thinking about, then you will tend to judge yourself negatively.

This condition can make your feelings lead to feelings of guilt. In fact, it is not necessarily the case that the action you did was wrong. In fact, other people do not consider it a mistake.

    1. The influence of parenting patterns

Improper parenting can sometimes trigger someone to experience this condition. Lack of appreciation from parents and often getting mistakes from others can make someone experience enosimania.

In addition, often being responsible for other people’s mistakes during childhood also risks making someone often feel quite deep guilt. Even though it is not necessarily that he did a wrong action.

    1. Culture

This feeling can also arise when you grow up and develop in a certain culture. You will feel guilty when you do not do things that are in accordance with the local culture or norms. Even though you have not done anything wrong.

    1. Social pressure

Almost similar to culture, if you are in an environment or social that is not in accordance with your habits, then you will tend to feel guilty about the actions you do every day. This condition also makes other people judge you so that you feel guilty and regretful.

    1. Low self-confidence

A person with low self-confidence is very susceptible to experiencing this condition.

    Diagnosis Enosimania

Generally, people with enosimania will not be aware of any health problems that occur. There is nothing wrong with inviting relatives or family who experience symptoms of this disorder to visit a psychologist. Especially if the symptoms cause disruption to daily life, work, and socializing abilities.

Disorders that are detected early certainly make treatment and medication easier to do. Usually, doctors or experts will perform various examinations both physically, medical history, to clinical interviews regarding the complaints experienced by sufferers.

    Enosimania Treatment

Providing appropriate treatment is important to improve mental health. There are several treatments that can be done to overcome enosimania, such as:

    1. Cognitive behavioral therapy

By doing cognitive behavioral therapy, sufferers will learn to manage situations when they face the things they fear.

In addition, sufferers are also able to explore more positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors when faced with situations that they find frightening.

    1. Counseling

Counseling is a treatment to overcome feelings of guilt that continue to occur in sufferers.

    1. Medicines

The use of drugs can help relieve symptoms due to this condition, such as depression or stress. Usually the use of drugs will be done together with other therapies. Make sure to take the medicine according to the doctor’s instructions.

    Complications of Enosimania

If not treated properly, enosimania can trigger various worse mental health disorders, such as depression. So, make sure to get proper treatment and handling.

    Prevention of Enosimania

There is no effective prevention for this disorder. However, you can avoid various risk factors. For example, by doing the right parenting pattern for children to avoid the emergence of this condition when the child grows up.
