Abhorring Meaning
To abhor is a verb whose origin can be found in the Latin “abhorrence”, a word made up of the separating prefix “ob” and “horrere” which can be translated as “to feel horror”.
According to its etymology, to hate means to distance oneself or separate oneself from that which causes us horror. Those who hate can choose only to distance themselves from the hated object or subject, or to carry out acts against it of varying severity. To hate is the opposite of loving and venerating.
It is a negative feeling of hatred, repulsion or rejection towards something or someone, motivated by objective or subjective reasons: “I abhor wars because they cause much pain and destruction”, “I abhor lies”, “Hating people for their race, nationality, ideas or religion is an unacceptable and legally and morally reprehensible discrimination”. When, as in this last case, what is hated is unfairly discriminated against, it can lead to very unpleasant consequences.
We often use the word “abrecer” only to reject something unwanted or unloved, because we find it annoying or boring, exaggerating the feeling, without it having such a negative value: “I hate going out dancing when it’s very hot” or “I hate going to school.”
In the Bible, hate can mean rejection and repudiation, which can be a sin if someone hates God or his neighbor; but it can also have the meaning of having a love of lesser magnitude, which is desirable if it is any love compared to that which should be felt for the Creator, as occurs when we read Luke 14:26, where he expresses that Jesus needs his disciples to hate their parents, wives, children, and brothers and their own lives; in the sense that the love they feel for Him should be greater, comparatively, and not that they despise their own lives or those of their relatives.
In the animal kingdom, when mothers abandon their chicks or young, it is said that she abhorred them, which is equivalent to abandoning them to their fate: “the pigeons hated their chicks and now I am trying to feed us and take care of them until they can fly.”

घृणा(Abhorring) करना एक क्रिया है जिसकी उत्पत्ति लैटिन के “घृणा” शब्द से हुई है, जो उपसर्ग “ओब” और “होरेरे” से बना है जिसका अनुवाद “भय महसूस करना” के रूप में किया जा सकता है।
